On December 17, WINDEY signed an agreement for deepening investment cooperation with Zhaoyun New Energy and the Administrative Committee of the Taiping Bay Cooperative Innovation Zone, in the presence of Miao Jianmin, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of China Merchants Group, Lian Jun, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Zhejiang Machinery and Electrical Group, Yang Zhenyu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager, and Cheng Chenguang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of WINDEY.
In light of the agreement, WINDEY will establish a JV firm with Zhaoyun New Energy, and build a blade HQ base in Taiping Bay, with a planned annual production capacity of up to 200 sets. As a major component of wind turbine generator system (WTGS), the blade has a strong linkage with WTGS. Planning of the blade industrial chain will help promote the technology updating and product upgrading of WTGS and further guarantee the first-mover advantage in development of new products. This time, the joint investment and construction of the Taiping Bay Blade Production Base Project, in conjunction with the Dalian Taiping Bay Main Equipment Factory, will help further bring down the cost of WTGS and ensure the supply chain’s security.
China Merchants Group has a deep and extensive cooperation with Zhejiang Machinery and Electrical Group and WINDEY, and has already carried out high-efficiency and pragmatic cooperation in Taiping Bay for the development of new energy, Miao Jianmin was quoted as saying. Miao expects the two sides to further strengthen strategic collaboration and develop cooperation in multiple fields such as green fuel, logistics service and industry-finance service, in an effort to jointly promote the high-quality development to a new level.
Lian Jun noted that the cooperation between the two sides helps enhance their respective core competitiveness and promote the industry’s coordinated development. Lian expects the two sides to further expand the range of cooperation and innovate in the cooperation mode on the basis of well-built cooperation, to bring into full play their respective advantages and strengths, and to jointly promote the implementation of projects in such fields as high-end equipment manufacturing, inspection and testing, and education and training, in order to achieve mutual benefits, win-win and common development.
